Virus is best grown in quail fibroblasts; most chicken cells are C/E type, and therefore not susceptible. DEAE dextran treatment of host cells recommended. Rapidly growing virus of E subgroup. Possibly the result of genetic reassortment between an ALV such as RAV-1 and an endogenous virus such as RAV-0. |
